What is plastic?
Plastic is a material that is lightweight, malleable, and can be used for many different purposes. It can be shaped when heated and then retains its shape as it cools. This property makes plastic highly versatile for various technical applications in industry.
Plastic is mainly produced from oil or natural gas through chemical processes and consists of long chains of molecules called polymers. It is a chemical process called polymerization, in which the molecules link together to form long chains. There are many different types of plastic, which can have different properties. Chemicals are added to plastic to give it specific properties such as hardness, elasticity, or color. Some are hard and rigid, while others are soft and flexible.
In short, plastic is a versatile material that can be shaped and customized.
