Effective sound and vibration damping for modern construction
AAG has supplied cut to a customer who needed the product for a construction project.
The customer wanted a material that would dampen sound and vibrations. By choosing our Vibrafoam, the customer gets a sound-insulating material that creates a pleasant and quiet environment.
In addition to requiring that the material be sound- and vibration-absorbing, the customer also had specific requirements regarding size and quality. The Vibrafoam was to be installed on beams and was therefore cut to specific dimensions. In this case, we used our cutting machine, which always produces a clean and precise cut in the material.
Since the vibrafoam is intended for installation in areas subject to varying loads, different requirements are placed on the material. In areas where the load is greatest, a harder material is used. The customer requested the material in four different hardness levels, and thus four different grades. The four different grades are indicated by the different colors of the material, which illustrate the maximum load the product can withstand.
There are 13 different grades of Vibrafoam, capable of withstanding loads ranging from 0.01 to 1.9 N/mm² (MPa).
Vibrafoam is manufactured in standard thicknesses of 12.5 mm or 25 mm and comes in standard plates 2000×500 mm. The material can withstand temperatures ranging from -30° to +70°.
